    Description
David (Greer) Neubecker was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1968. He attended Kennesaw State College (KSC) and graduated from Georgia State University in 1995 with a degree in early childhood education. Neubecker was a gay rights activist in Atlanta and Cobb County, Georgia in the 1980s and 1990s. He continued his activism, particularly in advocating for marriage equality, after moving to Chicago in 1998. He was the founder of Gays and Lesbians United for Equality (GLUE), KSC's first gay and lesbian student organization, and was also active in the Cobb Citizens Coalition, Friends Atlanta, Metropolitan Area Gay and Lesbian Organizations (MAGLO), Delta Lambda Phi, and Pride of Peachtree in Atlanta. In this interview, Neubecker discusses his childhood, family relationships, high school and college experiences, his relationship with then-partner Jon Greaves, and his participation in Atlanta-area LGBTQ organizations.
