    Description
    This is a leaf from "The Chronicles of England" printed by William Caxton in 1480. William Caxton is generally known as the first English printer. "The Chronicles of England" is a comprehensive documentation of British history until 1461. This leaf was printed in blackletter font on rag linen paper. Interesting characteristics include rubrication (red letters used to direct the reader's attention to a specific word or phrase) and marginalia (writing or drawings in the margins created by a reader).
