Born in 1946 to Lorene Rice Worthy and Forrest Bedford, Jr., Shirley Bedford Jackson attended the Roberts School and Lemon Street High School. She worked as a cook at Dobbins Air Force Base, a spinner at Coats and Clark Thread Mill, and windows department supervisor at Stock Builders. Jackson has four sons, Cedric, Gregory, Gary, and Reginald, 18 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. She lives on Taylor Street in Acworth.
