Born in Acworth to Doyal Hudson Hill and Elnora Williams Hill, Deborah Hill Bennett attended the segregated Roberts School, Acworth Elementary School, Awtrey Junior High School, and North Cobb High School. In 1991 Bennett moved to College Park, Georgia, where she became an ordained minister and executive secretary for the Open Door Outreach ministry. She later moved to Gwinnett County and took a job as an office manager for an engineering company while completing an associate degree at Gwinnett Technical College. Bennett married Charles Bennett in 2007. She has one daughter, Takia, and three grandchildren, Taylour, Jourdan, and Morgan.
