Description
Born in Michigan in 1924, Deloris “Tooken” Cade earned her nickname while she was working the photography booth at the United Service Organizations (USO) in Detroit. The soldier who gave her the nickname married her in 1944, and they transferred to Norfolk, Virginia for naval training. Cade moved to Georgia in the 1960s. She recorded her oral history interview at Kennesaw State University in May 2015.
