Description
Born in 1922, Hillard Pouncy grew up in Eufaula, Alabama. After graduating from high school, he attended Tuskegee Institute, where he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and became a bombardier in the Tuskegee Air Squadron. After the war Pouncy earned a Ph.D. from Syracuse University and worked as a chemist for Union Carbide. Pouncy lives in Austell, Georgia, and recorded his oral history interview at Kennesaw State University in July 2014.
