The Tate, Georgia Black History Collection developed in a partnership between the Kennesaw State University Department of Museums, Archives and Rare Books ( MARB) and the Tate Stewardship Committee (Pickens County, Georgia Commission) starting in 2021. As part of an effort to develop an exhibit on the history of the Tate community in the historic Tate Depot, MARB staff members worked with Pickens County residents and regional historians to conduct oral history interviews and digitize materials, including photographs and documents.
