Description
A Library of Libraries: Private Collections in the Bentley Rare Book Museum is an exhibition that highlights and critically analyzes private book collections that exist in the Bentley Rare Book Museum. Using selections from the Bentley’s most prominent personal library donations, this exhibition unearths fascinating stories of books and ownership while thoughtfully questioning how and why books end up where they do. Using a combination of panels, interactive stations, and dozens of textual artifacts, A Library of Libraries explores the legacies of humans that persist in the books they once owned and demonstrates how an institutional rare book museum can bring these stories to light.
