dc.descriptionThe Ladies of Essence was a civic group of Black women formed in March 1978. One of the goals of the organization was to award an annual scholarship to a member of the Cobb community. This program documents the first Ladies of Essence scholarship award ceremony. The award recipient was Jeriene D. Bonner.
