Dr. Julie Newell describes the opportunities available to SPSU students through the Department of Social and International Studies in this video included with SPSU's digital 2006-2007 academic catalog. Dr. Newell describes programs in the SIS Department, including the Science, Technology, and Society program, and their relevance to students pursuing technical degrees. She also discusses study abroad opportunities and language education, as well as the International Honors Society. At the time of filming, Dr. Newell was the coordinator of the Science, Technology, and Society program and also taught American History.
