William G. Booth was born in 1908 in Cobb County. Though the family had a farm in Kennesaw, his father, E. T. Booth, moved the family to Rome and Woodstock in his work as a school teacher and a Baptist minister. Booth recalled his family history in Northwest Georgia in his interview and donated to the KSU Archives ledgers belonging to 19th century Kennesaw blacksmith John Stanley Gibson.
