Dean C. Richard Cole joined the Southern Tech faculty part-time in 1982 and full-time in 1987 as a professor of architecture. During the consolidation of KSU and SPSU he served on the Marietta campus from July 2014 to January 2015 as interim vice president for academic affairs. Since July 2012 he has served as dean of the College of Architecture and Construction Management. Before becoming a dean, he taught architectural history, architectural design (studio), professional practice and ethics, and a variety of other courses. He also was active in the practice of architecture, working on a number of projects on military bases and elsewhere. His research has been on history of architectural practice and the law.
