Dr. Scherrer joined the faculty of Southern Polytechnic State University in 2005. She is a professor in the Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering. She is a 2017 recipient of KSU’s Outstanding Research and Creative Activity Award. Much of her research has a community focus where, for example, she has worked with the Centers for Disease Control on the application of industrial engineering principles to improve the efficiency of public school dental sealant programs. She has also published scholarship of teaching and learning papers related to her discipline.
