dc.descriptionLeeAnn B. Lands is an associate professor of History and Interdisciplinary Studies at Kennesaw State University. She received her degree in Engineering from the University of Florida in 1991 and a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech's School of History, Technology, and Society in 2001. Dr. Lands joined the faculty of Kennesaw State University in 2001 as the Coordinator of the Public History program. She held this position until 2006, when she became the Associate Coordinator of the American Studies program. From 2009 to 2010, Dr. Lands served as the Interim Director of the Master of Arts in American Studies. In 2006. she was the recipient of the Board of Regents' Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Award for her project to document the historic African American Summer Hill community in Cartersville, Georgia. Dr. Lands also received the KSU Alumni Association Betty L. Siegel Faculty Member of the Year Award in 2010 and the KSU Foundation Distinguished Service Award in 2011. She also won a KSU Foundation Prize in 2010 for her book, The culture of property: Race, class, and housing landscapes in Atlanta, 1880-1950 (2009).en_US
