Dr. Linda Niemann is a professor of English who came to KSU in 1999 to develop creative non-fiction courses for both the MAPW and the undergraduate programs. Her first three books (Boomer, Railroad Voices, and Railroad Noir) and many of her short stories are about her experiences as a brakeman for two decades on railroads throughout the West. She has been actively involved in the study abroad program in Oaxaca, Mexico, and is completing a book of stories growing out of her travels to Mexico and interest in Mexican and Mesoamerican culture.
