Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church was founded in 1885, in Marietta, GA, and is one of the oldest African American churches in the area. In celebration of Pleasant Grove’s 140th anniversary in 2025, the church embarked on a two-year partnership with Kennesaw State University’s Department of Museums, Archives and Rare Books to develop an exhibition celebrating the long history of Pleasant Grove. The physical exhibition panels are mounted and housed at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

The digital component of this exhibition contains digitized photographs and documents that complement the physical exhibition at the church. All materials are courtesy of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
